A stunning victory! The Minnesota Timberwolves reserves delivered a resounding 134-74 thrashing of the Guangzhou Loong-Lions in a recent exhibition game. This one-sided affair showcased the depth of talent within the Timberwolves roster, even without their key players.
The Timberwolves, opting to rest eight of their primary players in this pre-season match, gave opportunities to their less-experienced players. This strategic move provided valuable game time and experience for the reserves, allowing them to shine on the court. The game was held at the Target Center, marking the team's final home game of the pre-season. They will wrap up their pre-season with away games against Chicago and Philadelphia.
Leading the charge for the Timberwolves was Rob Dillingham, who showcased his scoring prowess with an impressive 27 points on an efficient 10-for-14 shooting. Alongside Dillingham, Bones Hyland, Terrence Shannon Jr., Leonard Miller, and rookie Joan Beringer were in the starting lineup. The bench also contributed significantly, with Johnny Juzang scoring 17 points and Rocco Zikarsky adding 16 points.
Facing the Timberwolves were the Guangzhou Loong-Lions, a team featuring three former NBA players, including Frank Kaminsky, Victor Oladipo, and Tim Frazier. Oladipo, a two-time All-Star, led the Loong-Lions with 14 points as he attempts to return to the NBA after battling injuries.
But here's where it gets controversial... The Loong-Lions, despite their experienced players, struggled throughout their NBA tour, losing all three games. They were previously defeated by the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers.
